Intro: 18 Digit Blueberry Cheesecake Pi Pie

This recipe puts the first 18 digits of pi in pie form.
Finally, math made delicious!

3 cups Blueberries
1/4 cup Granulated Sugar
1/5 cup Brown sugar
9 Tbs Water
2 Eggs
6 oz Pecans
5 tsp Lemon Juice
3 Tbs Cornstarch
5 tsp Vanilla
8 oz Cream Cheese
9 inch Pie Crust
7 dashes Nutmeg
9 Squares of Chocolate
3 Tbs Butter
2/3 cup Flour

Cheesecake
Beat granulated sugar and cream cheese.  Beat in eggs, half of the vanilla, lemon juice and a tablespoon of flour.

Blueberry Filling
Dissolve cornstarch in water and mix with berries and remaining vanilla.

Crumble Top
Mix the rest of the flour with the butter, brown sugar and nutmeg.  Mix in pecans.

Chocolate Drizzle
Melt chocolate and drizzle over pie.

How much nutmeg is 7 dashes nutmeg?

Excellent question! The answer is, more than 7 pinches, but less than 7 tads....give or take : )

No, really, I wanted to know this as well and while there clearly is some controversy, this is what I followed:

Tad — 1/8th teaspoon
Dash — 1/16th teaspoon (or less than 1/8th teaspoon)
Pinch — 1/16th teaspoon (or 1/24th teaspoon)
Smidgen (smidge, for short) — 1/32nd teaspoon (or 1/48th teaspoon)
Drop — 1/60th teaspoon (or 1/80th teaspoon or 1/120th teaspoon)
Hint — a trace

So then it equals out to just under half a teaspoon in all. Sorry I am taking a cooking class and loved the recipe and wanted to use it in class. To show the instructer i needed to know about how much in concrete measures what it would be.

Not a problem. I think you have a pretty wide range with nutmeg. Over a teaspoon may be too much, but anything up to that should be fine. I was just trying to keep within the pi parameters : )
