Introduction: 2x4 Star Decor

This is our design and instruction for the 2x4 Challenge.

Supplies

Two 2x4x8's

Wood Glue

Clamps

Stain

Step 1: Step 1: First Cut

Cut one 2x4x8 in half creating two 1x4x8's.

Step 2: Step 2: Second Cuts

Cut 5 pieces that are 24" long from the boards.

Step 3: Step 3: Draw Star

Line the boards as seen in the photo and draw a start across all five boards.

Step 4: Step 4: Cut the Star

Cut out the shape of the star, making sure the cuts are as accurate as possible.

Step 5: Step 5: Stain

Stain the boards to your liking. We did alternating stains to add a more abstract design.

Step 6: Step 6: Frame

Cut the extra 1x4 in half to create two 1x2x24in and two 1x2x20.75in. Wood glue them with the longer pieces on the inside, as seen in the picture.

Step 7: Final Step: Putting It Together

Place the star pieces in their appropriate sports, applying wood glue to the frame side and the underside of the piece. Clamp until glue dries.
