Introduction: 3 Diwali Lamps for 2023

Hi All,

Diwali (Festival of Lights) is coming soon. Many of us decorate our homes with lights.

I made 3 lamps using recycled cardboard or glass bottles, which I will share in this article

Step 1: Shadow Lamp

Material

  • Cardboard from any delivery
  • Pencil, eraser, and compass
  • Box cutter
  • Glue
  • Metallic acrylic paint
  • Tea light

Steps

  • Draw the pattern that you like, pick from the internet
  • Carefully cut the cardboard as shown
  • Glue a small piece of cardboard as a base, and let it dry
  • Paint using any metallic color of choice
  • Now place this near a wall and light the tea light
  • And enjoy the shadow cast on the wall

Step 2: Glass Bottle

Material

  • Old Monk Rum bottle (375ml)
  • Terracotta cup (typically used in India for Tea)
  • String Lights
  • Dremel with 2mm drill bit
  • Sandpaper 80 grit

Steps

  • Carefully drill holes in a circle as shown on the terracotta cup
  • Check if the glass bottle's neck passes through the hole
  • If needed use sandpaper to widen the hole
  • Once happy, place the string lights in the bottle
  • Place the bottle over the terracotta cup
  • Switch on and we are done.
  • Place it on a shelf or a table and enjoy patterns made by the glass

Step 3: The House

Material

  • Cardboard from any delivery
  • Pencil, eraser, and scale
  • Box cutter
  • PVA Glue
  • Coffee stirrer sticks
  • String lights

Steps

  • Draw a pattern on a paper sheet as shown
  • Using this template cut the walls and roof of the house
  • Cut the door and windows out
  • Glue the walls and base
  • Stick paper from inside to diffuse light
  • Stick wooden sticks on all the walls
  • Let all dry
  • The roof is not stuck, so we can operate led lights
  • Place the battery powered led lights inside the house
  • Switch on and enjoy

Step 4: Closing

I hope you liked these lamps and make one for this Diwali
