Introduction: 3D Printed Custom Bookmark
After receiving our first classroom 3D Printer we needed a simple project that we would be able to print quickly. The goal was that every student in our grade would have their own 3D printed project before school ended in three weeks. This project was a perfect introduction that had the right amount of customization to motivate students.
Supplies
Chromebook, Tinkercad account, 3D Printer
Step 1: The Make
Design the book mark in Tinkercad.
The parameters we made were: 100mm long, 30mm wide and 1mm thick for the background.
One inspirational word or slogan related to the designer at 2mm thickness.
One design or image that represents the designer at 2 mm thickness.
The designers initials rotated and set at 2mm thickness
Step 2: The Print
Printing these takes an average of one and a half hours if parameters are followed. Simple introduction project to tinkercad and 3D printing. Tip: Printing in white let’s student use sharpies to color their project.
