Intro: 3D Printed Power Hacksaw

This is a power hacksaw that will cut mostly anything. From wood to plastic to steel. I have also tested this with stainless steel. The videos below show it in action as well as show the component arrangement.

3D Printing Instructions.

Settings.

.3mm layer height. ABS highly recommended.

The Rod and crank should be printed at 100% infill for strength.

The Remaining parts need 30% infill.

STEP 3: Assembly Instructions.

When assembling the hack saw the bearings should be pressed into the plastic. This is the reason I recomended ABS as it does have some flex.

You should also debur all plastic parts before assembly. The rest of the parts can be seen. Use common sense.

If you can, reverse the rotation, most saws of this type have a stroke count between 60- 80 S.P.M., and the cam or Pittman arm turns anti- clockwise. This may improve overall performance, but all in all an excellent build, fav'd and voted up.

Very cool project! Not what I expected when I saw "Power Hacksaw". Thanks for sharing and welcome to the community!

Thank you.

I have been enjoying reading through instructables nearly daily for more than a year. time to give back eh?
