3D Printing a Chinese Character--界jie（世界world）

The Chinese Character 界 / jie / we chose means the diversity and variety of the world, there are various countries harmonious coexisted in the world. We apply the image of a rotating lamp, the globe inside is decorated with tatoos from different countries, and the shell outside is hollow-out and rotatable, one can see the whole world by spining it around. This piece of work can also be a good souvenir for oversea friends when they come to Datong School.

Step 1: 3D Modeling

We paid so much attention on the appearance of the work and ignored the expression of the theme that we met a lot setbacks during the work. Finally we use 123D software to shape the conceptual model.

Step 2: 3D Printing

Previously the 3D model works on with the middle of the rotating shaft structure. So as that we choose the high precision of 3D printing to realize the effect of rotation.
