Intro: 3D-glasses for Your Real Glasses

So I went to the movies and I was sick wearing those 3D-glasses over my regular glasses. If you need to wear glasses, you know what I mean.

When I went through my desk at work I found one of those ancient red and green 3D-glasses made from cardboard and came up with this idea:

Why isn’t there some kind of adapter that you can attach to your glasses? Sure, there are some, but they don’t work that well in my opinion.

STEP 1: Build Your Own One

In the pictures you can see my first and second attempt to create something useful.

After some try and error I had a design, that satisfied me and I wanted to share this with you guys.

Here are the materials you need:

- 1 pair of 3D-glasses (you need the filters, depending on what 3D system your cinema uses)

- Some cardboard (actually any will do)

- Some glue

- Laser-cutter or scissors and xacto-knive

I took advantage of the laser-cutter we have in my office, but I guess a Xacto knive or scissors will just work fine.

STEP 2: Glue Everything Together

Cut out the template from cardboard, place the 3D filter in the right direction inside the template, fold it over and glue everything in place.

And that's it.

I think you left out a step - Separate the 3-D glasses filters (lenses) from the movie frames. Then the next step would be to glue the lenses (in the correct direction) into the inside of the cardboard frames.

nice! I think one of the most annoying parts of the 3-D experience was trying to double up on glasses.

Great idea. The regular 3D glasses never work properly with prescription glasses.
