Introduction: 3d Printed Plane

I wanted to make a plane that was simple to 3d print. Its fairly simple to make, it needs no supports or brim. I have included the stl of the plane for anyone to use.

Supplies

3D printer

Paper clip

tape

Step 1: Tinkercad

I used Tinkercad to model my plane. It was my first time using it but I figured it out pretty fast. All I used to design the plane was use 3 squares for the wings and tail fins and a round roof for the main body. After modeling, I exported the file.

Step 2: Slicing and 3d Printing

The plane was modeled to be 3d printed as is, without needing support or a skirt/brim. I recommend only having 10% infill to make the plane as light as it can be. I used both 3d OS and Cura to slice this file for 3d printing

Step 3: Hook Setup

After removing your plane from your 3d printer, its time to setup your hook. I took a paper clip and bent it into the shape shown above. I then taped it to the front of the plane.

Step 4: Use Your Rubber Band to Let It Fly

Now that you have your plane set up, its now time to use your rubber band to sling shot your plane into the sky.
