Introduction: 7-Lamp Wooden Lighting Pendant
I made a wooden lighting fixture for my living room. I use fir wood, LED filament lamps (E27/230V) at various wattage and shape.
Supplies
For the lighting fixture construction I use
- 1200X400X28 mm wood
- Black vintage lamp-holders with built-in switch
- Black colour 2X1 s.m. cable
- Black chain
- Black ceiling rosette
For the painting and protection of the wood I use
- Dark walnut colour impregnation varnish
- Transparent P.U. parquet floor varnish
Step 1: Cutting & Morphing the Wood
I cut the edges of the wood with jig saw at random shape and inclination. I sand the cuts, so the edges soften and I prepare the wood for the painting
Step 2: Marking & Drilling
I mark the spots that I would like to place the lamp-holders and I made the holes with a drill
Step 3: Paint
I paint the wood with the dark walnut varnish (2 passes) and then I apply 2 passes of the P.U. protection varnish
Step 4: Getting All Together
At the final step I place the lamp-holders, the hooks for the hanging for the chain, I made the connections and the project was completed
Step 5: Installation
I install the 7-lamp lighting fixture at my living room. The total wattage is only 58W and it provides 6820 lumens of light!
The total cost for this project was only 65 euros and the result was really satisfying
Super bright, low-cost and vintage look
