Introduction: 8x10 Shed Plans (Free)

8x10 shed blueprints to either build your own or have a contractor build it for you. Material list or cost estimate is not included and plans are based off of Ontario Building Code specifications for floor joist and roof joist loads. A material list and cost estimate maybe offered by a local lumber supplier.

Building Dimensions: 8'-1" x 9'-9"

Building Height: 10'-5 1/16" (not including foundation)

Construction: 2x4 wood frame, non insulated, shiplap plywood siding, asphalt shingles

Unobstructed interior height: 7'-6 1/2"

Tools/Materials Required:

  • door latch
  • door hinges
  • paint or stain
  • concrete pads or piers
  • tape measure
  • level
  • saw (manual hand saw, table saw, handheld saw)
  • pencil

  • roofing nails
  • safety glasses
  • drill

Step 1:

In order to building a shed, depending on where you are located you may or may not be required to obtain a building permit. A building permit is required so a certified inspector by the town/city/municipality can inspect the construction of the shed to ensure it meets regulations for safety, spacial requirements, and visually. This information can be found by either visiting the town/city/municipality website or contacting the town/city/municipality by phone.

Step 2:

Modifications can be made to these plans if need be such added doors, windows, building dimensions, etc. Stud spacing, floor joist spacing, and roof joisting spacing is 16" on center, Materials can be changes as well such as wall, roof, and paint coverings.
