Introduction: Advanced Paper Airplane
The point of this instructable is to teach a person how to make a more advanced paper airplane in only a few short steps.
Step 1: Type of Paper
To start get a piece of standard printer paper (typically 8.5x11"). Printer paper is used because loose leaf paper is generally to flimsy and thus does not fly well, however loose leaf may still be used if you have no printer paper on hand.
Step 2: Make the Main Center Fold
Fold the paper in half long ways to create a center fold.
Step 3: Fold the Corners in to the Center
Unfold the paper then fold the top two corners so they line up with the center fold line.
Step 4: Fold the Point Down
Take the point made in step 3 and starting from where the edges angle in fold the entire point down so that the entire point overlaps with the paper (the paper should now look similar to an envelope).
Step 5: Fold in the Corners
Fold the two top corners that were created in step 4 down to the center fold so that the points are close to touching.
Step 6: Fold Up the Small Point
Fold up the triangle that had been covered in step 5 so that it secures the flaps against the crease.
Step 7: Fold the Paper in Half Along the Original Fold Line
fold the entire paper along the original fold line creating two identical sides (Note: the folds from step 6 should still be visible as shown in the photo above).
Step 8: Create the Wings
Fold both side flaps down to the bottom (to the main center fold line) so that the long edge of the wings are aligned with the bottom of the airplane.
Step 9: Angle Up the Wings
now unfold the wings just made in step 8 and slightly angle them upwards.
Step 10: Test Flight
Give the plane a test flight by gently tossing it and if everything went correctly it should go pretty far.
