Introduction: Aerial Screw
Hello, my name is Liam, I take an animation class at my high school and my teacher told the class about this project and said we should enter.
Supplies
For this project I used Maya and DaVinci Resolve.
Step 1: Idea
My original thaught was to make an ornithopter but saw schematics for the arial screw and that inspired me to make this instead.
Step 2: Modeling
I used basic shapes to make the screw and a sculpting stamp to make the mountain range. For the people I sculpted a body.
Step 3: Rigging
I was able to make a simple rig for the people and bound it to the models pushing the screw and rotating it.
Step 4: Texturing
I found basic textures on the internet to resemble the materials I used and mapped them to look more realistic.
Step 5: Animation
I animated the figures to push the aerial screw off a cliff for a test flight while 3 more figures rotate the screw as it falls.
Step 6: Compile Frames Into Finished Product
I compiled the rendered frames in DeVinci Resolve and uploaded my video onto Youtube. Depending on how the video is watched the video can look wierd.
