Introduction: Aerosol Spray Can Wall Storage

About: Manufacturing Engineer with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, love doing projects on the side, have a laser engraver, 3d printer, and cricut along with standard wood working tools.

Aerosol spray can holder that holds 24 Cans of varying lengths that fits between a 24" on-center wall stud. Made from one 2x4 for the One Board Contest (PDF of a print included)

Supplies

  • One 2"x4"x8'
  • Table and Miter Saw
  • Clamps
  • Drill
  • Impact Driver
  • 2-3/4" Hole Dozer
  • Screws (or nails)
  • Wood Glue

Step 1: Cut Pieces on Miter Saw

  • 32" (1)
  • 20.63" (3)
  • 0.25" (2)

Step 2: Table Saw Ripping Boards

  • One 20.63" board into 5 equal pieces 0.6" wide
  • Two 20.63" boards rip in half the long way
  • The 32" board rip in half the long way

Step 3: Drill Holes

  • Clamp boards down and drill holes at 2.00", 5.33", 8.65", 11.98", 15.30", 18.63"
  • (Optional) 16" on-center board measurements length 14.63", holes at 2.33" 5.56", 8.98", 12.30"

Step 4: Mark Boards

  • Mark 32" boards out with a lines for the correct angle (65°) and spacing, starting from the bottom mark at 0.63", 2.95", 6.13", 8.13", 10.45", 15.63", 17.95", 23.13", 25.45"

Step 5: Drill, Screw, Glue (or Nail)

  • Glue ends of inner boards and screw together (or use nail gun)
  • Glue and clamp stop pieces on the top

Step 6: Installing on Wall

  • Screw a screw into studs at appropriate height, lift onto wall and enjoy!
