Introduction: Alcohol From an Old Moka

if you need spirit for home use, this is an easy way to get it.
DANGER: This is absolutely not food grade alcohol, it can produce methyl alcohol, poisonous !!

Supplies

1 old coffee moka
1 tube (about 60cm or more) in metal or other heat-resistant material with a diameter suitable for the moka used

Step 1:

this is a very simple and comprehensible process from the images even without the description, so you can excuse my English language: first step the moka is deprived of the internal components, then reinsert the gasket in its place. If the seal is defective, a new one can be obtained from a tire inner tube or a simple twine segment.
I have also cut off the top cup of the moka, but this is not strictly necessary.

Step 2:

On the nozzle of the moka I have adapted a plastic tube for compressed air, which evidently holds the warm temperature, even if it becomes softer. The free end goes into a collection container placed at a lower level than the distiller.

Step 3:

the distiller is now ready for use, it is loaded with suitable organic material fermented in sweetened water, residue of apple, potato, grapes, cereals & so, it is screwed to the upper part and, placed on the fire, it will soon begin to release distillate alcohol.
You will get also methyl alcohol, useful for microscopy and more, if you distill wood fragments, at the end of the distillation you will find coal in their place.
