Introduction: Amazing Chocolate Chip Cookie
This recipe is derived from the original Toll House chocolate chip cookie from Nestle. It has always been my favorite chocolate chip recipe! You can never go wrong with the original!
Step 1: Ingredients
To get us started on the road to a delicious batch of cookies, we are going to need to gather our supplies.
For this recipe you will need:
2 1/4 cups of all purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 sticks of butter (or 1 cup)
3/4 cup of brown sugar
3/4 cup of granulated white sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 large eggs
1 12oz package of chocolate chips
Also, do not forget the electric mixer, cookie sheet, non-stick spray, rubber spatula, and mixing bowls.
Step 2: Combine
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees before you get started mixing ingredients.
In a large bowl, mix together the dry ingredients. This will include the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set this aside for later.
In the electric mixer, on a low speed, combine the butter and sugars together until smooth. Then add, 1 at a time, both eggs to the mixture. when you get a soupy consistency, add in the vanilla. Give the mix about a minute or so to really get swirled around before adding in your bowl full of dry ingredients you had set aside. Do this slowly to avoid clumps, only adding a quarter of the dry ingredients in at a time and allowing the mixture to blend until creamy. Once you have made the base mixture put the mixer on a stir setting and pour in the chocolate chips. be sure not to blend for too long or the chocolate chips will break apart.
Step 3: Prep for the Oven
Now that we have our dough made, it is time to get the cookies in the oven.
Start by greasing a cookie sheet. Typically a 13 inch x 9 inch pan will do.
Dollop rounded tablespoon size portions onto the greased cookie sheet allowing at least an inch in between each cookie. I can usually squeeze about 12 cookies onto 1 sheet.
Step 4: Bake
Place cookie sheet in middle of the oven and yield 10 minutes of baking time. Be sure to check continuously on cookies as it may take longer or shorter depending on each oven. Bake until golden brown, and make sure the edges of the cookies have a little crisp to them. After the cookies are baked, pull them out of the oven using an oven mitt and allow them to cool on a cooling rack to avoid over heating them.

Good and easy recipe– cookies in an hour.
But as always I've got mine flowed around and they all are flat and square. What could be the cause? Temperature?

For the perfect (to my mind) texture, add 1/2c of whole wheat flour, as well. Crisp edges with still a soft, chewy middle. Yum!

This is a very delicious cookie recipe. I usually have to let my batter sit in the fridge before baking to prevent a big glob of cookie when done
