Animate Car Headlights

the car 2cv has headlights that look like eyes. I volunteer in an association Museum of the 2cv. I like to animate things from the museum to make it more attractive for parents and children. So my idea is to make the car alive.

The idea here, when a person passes, the headlights, rather the eyes of the 2cv come to life.

Supplies

the headlights of the car to be modified or other spare

1 arduino nano

1 arduino connection bracket

2 mini servo 9g

2 360° rotation servo motor with high torque

4 Ball bearing

2 Red LED

2 led band

1 car relay

1 passover sensor

Step 1: Alteration of the Lighthouse

It is necessary to drill on each side to fix the mini servo 9g for the eyelids.

on one side I put an active servo motor and on the other an empty servo that ser jute de roulemet and support for the eyelid

Inside a larger servo connected to an axis to turn the eye from right to left.

There’s a twist on each side of the hull and the axis pierces them.

the axis is hollow to let through the electric wires

Step 2: 3D Printing

I merged the eyelids and eyelashes and printed them with my 3D printer.

Lashes are glued with glue on the eyelid

Step 3: Illumination Portion

I took an industrial shelf foot to make the iris of the eye.

behind I glued a small white led strip and I also put a powerful red led that will represent the annoyance.

It will be screwed with a decalling on a white wood plate to make the back of the eye.

Step 4: Arduino Programming

I installed the program in the Arduino.

The green relay comes from a car and is 12VDc because the pass sensor operates at 10 to 30 VDC.

When a person passes in front of the sensor, it activates the program, and the car’s eyes come alive
