Introduction: Applebees Maple Butter Blondie Sauce

Sometimes you just have to throw things into a pot and see what happens. At the time, I couldn't get enough of the Applebees Maple Butter Blondie. So I was on a mission to duplicate the sauce recipe and come reasonably close to the blondie.

I've tested a few of the other copycat recipes out there, but the sauces were always made with a brown sugar base which didn't come close to the Applebees version. So I mixed and matched a few recipes and threw a few things together to come up with a light colored sauce.

Maple Sauce

1 c. cream

½ c. white chocolate chips

¼ c. granulated sugar

1/4 tsp. maple extract

1 c. sour cream

Directions

Combine cream, chips and sugar in a saucepan and cook, constantly stirring on medium heat.
About 1 minute after it is bubbly and thickened, remove from heat. Be careful not to burn the sugary sauce.
Add maple flavoring and sour cream and stir until combined.
Sauce will thicken more as it cools.
