Introduction: BBC Sherlock Costume
When I searched "Sherlock" into instructables, I was shocked to see nothing of relevance. I LOVE the show and decided that I will be Sherlock for Halloween. This is my first instructable so I am open to feedback. Enjoy!
Step 1: Materials
You will need:
A dark colored trench coat
Dark colored scarf
Collared shirt
Dark pants (no yoga pants)

Step 2: References
To get an idea of how to dress, I STRONGLY recommend looking at pictures.
Step 3: Collared Shirt
Any shirt will do so long as it's not pink.
Step 4: Scarf
A cashmere or knitted dark-colored scarf will do. It would be great if it were silk with fringes. To wear the scarf the way Sherlock does it, fold it in half around your neck and put the end in the loop.
Step 5: Pants
You can use dark-colored jeans for pants, although office pants (sorry, I don't know what you call them) work better.
Step 6: Shoes
Those nice, laced black leather shoes would work perfectly.
Step 7: Trench Coat
Get a long, black trench coat. I will use my mom's big, beige one because I can't find my grey one. If you can't buy one, work with what you have. A blazer is fine.
Step 8: Attitude
Even if you substituted a lot of the costume elements, you can still be him in character. Act like the anti-social, confident, observant Sherlock in the BBC show. That is how people will know who you are.
