Intro: BBQ Cheeseburger Sliders

This is the second Instructable in a series of easy to make sliders. The first, Breakfast Sliders, introduced a technique for making a dozen sliders at a time. In this one, I demonstrate that the same technique can be used to create a variety of traditional hamburger sliders, using my favorite recipe. I hope you enjoy it.

Ingredients:

  • 1 package pre-baked dinner rolls
  • 1/4 stick butter, melted
  • 1 lbs ground beef (I used 80/20)
  • 4 slices American cheese
  • 6 slices block Pepper Jack cheese
  • 3 tbsp spicy bbq sauce
  • 1/4 red onion, chopped

STEP 1: Bake a Giant Burger

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Season your hamburger meat however you like. I like just a little salt, pepper, and spicy bbq sauce. Melt butter.

Press hamburger into the bottom of a shallow, rectangular baking dish (preferably Corningware or glass). The dish should be approximately the same size as the sheet of dinner rolls. Bake the sausage in the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 minutes. Slice the dinner rolls open, with the entire sheet still connected, using the slicer. When the hamburger is done, place it on a huck towel (use a large spatula) to drain and pour the drippings out of the baking dish. Place the bottom half of the dinner rolls in the baking dish. Keep oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

STEP 2: Construction

Lay the hamburger in one piece on the bottom half of the dinner rolls. Top with onions, cheese, and any other toppings desired.

STEP 3: Bake

Place the top half of the dinner rolls on top and brush with melted butter. Bake in 350 degree Fahrenheit oven for 20 minutes. Cut to separate and serve.

Enjoy!
