Take an oversized shirt that you love and make it fit to your size! I loved this shirt but it was way to big for me. So I took tips from other DIY tutorials and created this! I liked how it turned out. Let's get to it!

Step 1: Lay Your Shirt Out

Lay your shirt out flat. You want it to be evenly flat on a flat surface. I have carpet and it wasn't any different than a hard wood floor or a tile floor. Make sure the front side is facing the floor so the backside is facing you.

Step 2: Cut Up the Middle

Making sure your tshirt is even on a flat surface, cut up the middle until you reach 2 inches below the collar. You can go further if it's a bigger shirt but I played it safe and stopped here.

Step 3: Preparing to Cut

With your tshirt cut, fold the now cut sections so that the two cut sections are laying on top of each other. Hopefully the pictures can help explain as well. To keep the edges from rolling up, I placed safety pins to keep the shirt attached to the carpet. If you do not have carpet, masking tape will work as well just as long as your tshirt isn't going anywhere

Step 4: Cutting

Now that you're completely prepped to cut, it's now time for the cutting! With a ruler, you're going to cut 2 inches in and 1 inch wide. You're going to do this all the way to the end of the shirt.

Step 5: Tying the Knots

Keeping the ends even, you're now going to double knot each set of fringes until you get to the end. Depending on how fitted you want your shirt, tie the knots to your liking. I loosely tightened the knots at first but then wanted a tighter for so I made the knots tighter.

Step 6: You're Done!

Congrats! You have a new cute shirt to wear out and about that's now fitted to your liking! Sorry for posing in the bathroom but it was the only place in my house with decent lighting.

I know some people have cut the collar off to make a v-neck but the possibilities are endless! So don't throw out a free tshirt just because it's too big, re-vamp it the way you want! If you have any comments or suggestions, I would love to hear them!
