Want to see a magic trick? Make a batch of these and watch them disappear right before your very eyes!!!
Step 1: Ingredients
2 packages of Thick sliced bacon ( I use turkey bacon)
About 32 cherries (1 small jar of maraschinos OR fresh cherries can be used for this, but if you use fresh ones, don't forget to remove the seeds.)
1/4 cup honey
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
about 7 BBQ Skewers (if you use wooden ones, you need to soak them in water for 20 minutes before cooking, to keep them from burning)

Step 3: Cooking Cherries (BBQ Method)
Note: These babies cook super fast so be on your toes.
1. Place skewers on grill and cook thoroughly on one side.about 2 minutes.
2. Flip cherries and baste tops completely with the honey mixture. I use garden gloves to turn the skewers (VERY HOT, DON"T BE A DUMMY!!)
3. By the time you are done with step 2, the bottom sides should be just about ready to flip and baste with honey mixture.
4. After basting, let cook for another minute or so. be careful not to burn them though.
5. Serve hot off the grill and watch them disappear.

Step 4: Cooking Cherries (Oven Method)
Note: this method is currently in testing. I have done it before, but I am not sure that the cooking times are fully accurate. If you try the oven method, Be sure to keep an eye on these as you are cooking because I might have been wrong. I will update this page with the exact cooking times the next time i make them inside. (or if someone out there makes them and lets me know first.)
1. preheat oven to 350 degrees
2. place skewers on the outer lips of a baking pan so the cherries are not touching the bottom
3. Place in oven until bacon is fully cooked (about 5 to 10 minutes, ).
3. remove from oven and baste each cherry completely with honey mixture, then place back in oven for another 2 to 4 minutes.
4. serve hot out of the oven and watch them disappear.
