Introduction: Bacon Wrapped Dates
Three simple ingredients to make one delicious snack.
-Bacon
-Dates (pitted)
-walnuts
perfect combination of salty and sweet.....wrapped up in bacon.
other things that you will need:
-oven
-tin foil and tray
-tooth picks
first thing you want to do is preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
You will have plenty of time while is preheating to wrap things in bacon.
Step 1: Halfs
so you are going to pretty much cut everything in half..
you do not want to cut the dates all the way in half, just to the center so that you can place a walnut inside of it.
trying to fit a whole walnut in a date is a difficult task, so we are going to cut them in half and only put half of a walnut in each date.
Step 2: Wrapping It Up
now we take the half's of walnuts and place then inside to the dates.
take a half strip of bacon and wrap it around the date followed by stabbing it with a tooth pick to make sure it will not unravel.
Step 3: Baking the Bacon
to ease on clean up you can place tin foil over the tray so that you can just trow it away after.
evenly place the wraps on the try and place in the oven that you have preheated to 350 degrees.
I like my bacon crispy so in normally bake it for about 35 minutes.
if you want to candy you bacon, drizzle some maple syrup over top of them and add some brown sugar before you put it in the oven.
you might have to make a lot, because what is in the photo I ate by myself. so if you intend to share you will need a lot more.

I make these with blue cheese inside instead of walnuts. Then I condense some balsamic vinaigrette down to use as a dipping sauce. They are gluttonously good!

I've always been reluctant to try dates, but if they are wrapped in bacon, bring em on!
