Introduction: Baking Banana Bread

Hi, my name is Lilly Peschong. I’m going to show you how to bring happiness and comfort into your life. I’m also going to show you how to bring the smells of fall into your home, and in turn bring joy to anyone who lives there. Today, I am going to show you how to make banana bread, one of the simplest recipes, yet one of the most rewarding. Statistics have shown that banana bread has been a major comfort food with the covid pandemic going on right now.

Step 1: Ingredients

The first step is to gather all of the ingredients. For this recipe, the wet ingredients needed are 3 large brown bananas, half a cup of melted butter, and 2 eggs. The dry ingredients needed are 1 cup of sugar, 2 cups of flour, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, half a teaspoon of salt. The bread pan that I use is 2.25x5.25x2.75 inches, but I believe any size would work. While gathering the ingredients, preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Step 2: Mixing Ingredients

The second step is to mash the bananas. After the bananas are mashed, add the rest of the ingredients and mix them all together. The wet and dry ingredients do not have to be separated, just make sure to mash the bananas well. Once all of the ingredients are mixed together, grease the pan with butter, oil, or baking spray, whichever is preferred or available. The pan should also be flowered. After the pan is greased and floured, pour the mixture into it.

Step 3: Baking Bread

After the mixture is in the pan, put the pan in the oven, and bake it for 50-60 minutes. The banana bread is done if a fork or toothpick comes out clean after sticking it in the middle of the loaf. If the item chosen comes out clean, the bread is done. If not, let it bake for a few more minutes and check again. Once it’s done, take the pan out of the oven. Be careful not to burn yourself, and don’t forget to turn the oven off.

Step 4: Final Step

Let the banana bread sit for a little while until it’s warm, not hot, and then cut yourself a piece and enjoy it. I prefer my banana bread with some butter on it, but that step is up to you! Banana bread is a treat that isn’t too sweet but is sweet enough. It’s a perfect after school snack for kids, or a bedtime snack for adults. It is also good for any holiday.
