Introduction: Banana and Chocolate Campfire Treat

On our farewell night for our second trip to the USA our friends that we were staying with cooked us up a delight on a campfire - Chocolate Bananas!

When we returned we had to make this marvelous delight and we managed to get the method off them.

This is an extremely simple and quick dessert (or farewell foodstuff) and everyone should learn how to make it.

These taste awesome and it is a great last minute "Oh I need something to give them!" idea.

All you need is some banana, chocolate, Aluminium foil, knife, heating device**, serving utensils, chocolate a baking tray and some chocolate.

** The very first time we had these they were made on a campfire, you can use a microwave, oven or any other heating device that will melt the chocolate.

Step 1: The Bananas and Foil.

Firstly you will need to break a banana off of the bunch, repeat this until you have enough bananas for each person.

You also need to tear off al-foil squares, make the same amount of foil squares as you have bananas.

When you have everything ready it is time to move on to the next step!

Step 2: Prepare the Bananas.

It is now time to prepare the bananas.

You need to leave the peel on the banana and make a cut the full length of the banana.

This cut needs to be about as deep as the squares of chocolate you are using.

When you ave cut all the bananas you are ready to move on!

Step 3: Ch--cho--choco--CHOCOLATE TIME!!!

Chocolate time is my favourite part, it is where little kids get to sneakily take as much chocolate as possible without being caught...

You need to break the chocolate into the pre-portioned squares and insert them into the cut in the banana.

Use about enough chocolate so when it melts it will fill the cut in the banana.

Step 4: The Full Wrap.

Wrapping time!

Being christmas time I think you would be over wrapping by now but lets do it anyway!

You need to take one foil square, lay the banana on it and wrap it up like shown.

It is really easy and you don't have to worry too much about sealing the casing.

Step 5: The Last Part!

Now it is time for the heating element to come into the process.

You should only need to cook these until the chocolate melts - in an oven at 200* C this takes about 10-15 minutes.

If you are using a campfire, 7-10minutes should be plenty enough.

The effect you are looking for is melted chocolate and the banana should be too hot to touch.

Un-wrap it carefully (with full care) an then serve!

If you have kids around you might want to let these cool quite a bit before serving, they can be extremely hot!!

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, I hope you have fun making these yourself!
