Introduction: Barebone GMMK 2 Glorious Mechanical Keyboard 65%

I put together a mechanical keyboard kit from Glorious That I recently bought from best buy. Since I have a Gaming PC that I built I've been looking for a better keyboard to use since my first one was on the cheap side. It is a pre packaged kit that you can put together yourself. There are many different options and combinations you can make for this keyboard. For mine I went with the Black GMMK2 65% barebones keyboard base. They also have different versions and colors. I don't use the number pad a lot so I chose the 65% option, they also offer a 70% and a full board option. I also used the polychroma RGB key caps and the glorious lynx lubed switches.

Supplies

For this you need the 65% GMMK 2 barebone edition, Two sets of Glorious lubed lynx switches, and one box of the Polychroma RGB keycaps.Key Cap tool and switch tool come with the base.

Step 1: The Base

First unbox the barebones GMMK base, inside will be the base of the keyboard, a key cap tool and a switch tool, along with a braided usb c to usb cable to power the keyboard.

Step 2: The Switches

Next unbox the switches, you will need 67 in total and you will have some left over.

Step 3: Switch Install

The switches just pop into place with a semi firm press. During this step make sure to line up the pins on the bottom to the holes in the keyboard base. Once all the holes are filled with the switches its time for key caps.

Step 4: The Key Caps

Now we unbox our key caps, the box comes with enough keys for a full size keyboard. Since this is a 65% build we will not be using all of the caps provided.

Step 5: Key Cap Install

For this I googled the GMMK 2 65% keycap layout since we have enough caps for a full keyboard. The install itself is similar to the switches. Just line up the hole on the bottom of the key cap with the white switch stand and press it on. If you put a key cap on wrong or in the wrong spot, you can use the orange keycap remover tool to take it off the switch

Step 6: Enjoy

After everything is done, You got yourself a brand new keyboard, all that's left to do is plug in the usb c in the back and then the other end to a usb port on the PC.

Extra notes: If at anytime you want to swap keys or swap switches you can use the orange tool for keycaps and the metal tool for the switches. This keyboard is completely hot swappable meaning as long as you have the base you can use any combo of glorious brand key/switches, or even other brands of keys and switches.
