Introduction: Beer Cheese Soup in Bread Bowl
Great for little party with friends :)
Step 1: Bread Bowl
Slice the top of the bread as shown on picture, set aside top
Make a cross cut for the inside of the bread, take out and cut into cubes
Place bread bowl and bread cubes on serving bowl
Step 2: Beer Cheese Soup
4 chicken bouillon cubes
3 c. water
1 can of your fav. beer
1 c. each of diced celery, diced onion, diced carrots
2 1/2 c. cubed potatoes
1 (20 oz.) pkg. frozen vegetable mix
2 cans cream of chicken soup
1 lb. cheese such as Velveeta, cubed
Bring chicken bouillon, water, beer, celery and onion to boil then simmer, covered, for 20 minutes. Add in potatoes, carrots, vegetables and cook until tender. Add cream soup and cheese. Heat until cheese is melted and soup is hot.
Let stand for 5 minutes or so, then spoon/pour into bread bowl. Sprinkle with dried chives and serve

That's a great idea serving the bread cubes on the side! I always thought bread bowls seemed wasteful when they emptied out the roll and threw away the insides :) Thanks for sharing!

sounds awesome, but i am going to leave out the damn carrots and the frozen veggie mix. everything else is a Go. Do you by chance have a conversion for the bullion cubes to teaspoons or tablespoons? i have a giant jar of the powdered version of the bullion.

TBH I dont normally use measurement when cooking. Most of the time just a little of this, a little of that, a lot of tasting to adjust the flavor. Only since I know I'm posting them to instructables.com that I kinda measure them (if not following a specific recipe). Now that being said, I checked Knorr box, it says to dissolve 1 cube in 2 c of hot water to use (when normally, I just drop a cube or two to my soup/cooking, adjust the taste, that's it)...soooo, perhaps just use 2 tsp first and see if it's lacking the flavor, then add more from there? Hope that helps?
