Learn to light an LED with Arduino microcontroller board.

Have you ever heard of a microprocessor? A microprocessor is “an integrated circuit that contains all the functions of a central processing unit of a computer” (Google). A type of microprocessor is an Arduino. One of the many things that the Arduino can do is light up an LED light.

Our first microprocessor project using Arduino to illuminate and LED light. The DIS Demons Makers do it all!

Step 1: Supplies

2x male to male jumper wires
Arduino Uno
Resistors (as many as how many LEDs are used)
LED lights (any amount)
Breadboard
Laptop,computer, mac, etc
Arduino Software

Buy an Arduino Kit (optional)

Step 2: Connection

Connect Arduino to power source (laptop, Comp, Etc.)

Step 3: Connect Jumper Wires to Arduino

Connect one male to male jumper wire to GND and another to 5V

Step 4: Connect Jumper Wires to Breadboard

Connect the GND (yellow) to the positive side and 5v (red) to the negative side

Step 5: Resistor Connection

Now connect one part of the resistor you are using to the positive row/column and the other part to a hole on the breadboard, afterwards, add the small part of the LED light to the negative row/column and the long part to the same row/column as the resistor

Step 6: LIGHT

The light bulb should light up if the steps were followed carefully and correctly. If the LED doesn’t light up then try another LED and check your connections.This is a fun learning experience in technology and you can do many more different things with the Arduino.
