Introduction: Bench From Headboard and Foot Board

About: Hi my name is David, I like to make things out of Wood, also like to take things apart and fixed them.

In this Instructable I will try and show you how I made these 2 benches from Bunk beds. I didn't document this project much, it was before I started doing Instructables. But I hope you can get something from this. These are not hard to make.

Step 1: What You Will Need

You will need the following:

Headboard and Footboard

Tablesaw or Circular saw

Drill

Tape Measure

Kreg Pocket jig

Kreg pocket screws 1 1/4" long

Paint or Stain

paint brush

Sander and sandpaper

Extra wood for the seat parts, I used old pallet wood and some Popular scraps

Step 2: Attach Parts

First decide how wide you want your bench seat to be, then cut the foot board in half or shorter. I choose shorter for one, then cut the other one in half. Now take your pocket hole jig, and drill some pocket holes on the ends, so that you can attach the foot board to the Headboard. Clamp the parts together, if you don't have a helper. Screw the foot boards to the Headboard.

Note make sure and check the locations for your screws before drilling pocket holes.

Then I cut down some 1 x 3 boards and attach them with pocket screws.

I don't have a picture of the boards for the seat,

Step 3: Paint or Stain

Now is the time for either painting or staining your project. I choose to piant my benches, I painted both with white paint and primer, after that dried. I painted one brown and the other green.

Step 4: Finished Project

Now is the time to enjoy your projects, I put the brown one out in front of the house, my cats thought it was for them. LOL.

Thanks for checking out my Instructable, sorry I didn't take many pictures while making this. I made this before I started doing Instructables.
