Introduction: Bike Frame Fixture by A.Rabe

Hey my friends and bike builders,

recently I wanted to buy myself a road bike. But then I started thinking about to build on by my own.

(I’m not a total beginner when it comes to work with metall ;D)

So I started researching on forums like these and noted down all information about Frame jigs I can get. I also inspired myself from pithy bikes, cobra frames and Farr…

After all the effort of researching in the depths of the internet, I finally came up with a Idea and a first sketch.

Thereupon I designed my ruff sketch in fusion 360. And I have to mention, that I’m pretty amazed how it came out. <<3

But now there is the point where I need your help.

Befor I’m going to buy all the aluminium extrusions, the screws and the wood. I would like to know from you (experienced bike builders), what do you think of the design? I really don’t want to waste money if something doesn’t works properly. Do you think that the construction will do its job?

I really appreciate every comment and answer on this post and I hope your answers will advance my work.

Step 1:

Secondly I’d like to know what the mounting dimensions, in the middle of, for example the paragon machine works dummy axles are? Is there a standard sizing for these dummy axle mounts?

If you don’t understand what I mean exactly, I marked the spot in the picture.

Would be nice if someone tells me. <3
