Introduction: Binary Converter in Minecraft

This is a binary converter that converts binary code to a base 10 system it has 3 binary inputs and 8 outputs (0-7). It can be used in redstone displays calculators and other circuits in minecraft.

Supplies

A World in minecraft. Creative and Superflat.

Step 1: Create a Triple AND Gate

Place 5 blocks in a row with 3 on the side. Place 4 redstone torches and 11 Red Stone dust in the configuration shown. The redstone lamp is there for reference, you do not have to add this yet. A triple AND Gate turns on the output (redstone lamp) when all three inputs are on.

Step 2: Place 8 Triple ALL Gates

Place 8 AND Gates in a row with 3 block spaces in between

Step 3: Create 6 Rows of Blocks

Place 6 rows of blocks as shown in the picture 5 spaces out from the AND Gates. Make sure there is 3 spaces in between the rows and that the rows extend 2 blocks past the AND Gates at the top and 1 at the bottom.

Step 4: Place Blocks Toward the Top of the Rows

Place blocks toward the top of the rows in this configuration.

Step 5: Add NOT Gates (Inverters)

Add one block, a redstone torch, and 2 redstone dust in this configuration

Step 6: Connecting Rows to the ALL Gates

The top has 3 inputs and the inverter make the inverted line next to the input line opposite to the input line

Step 7: Continued

The inputs to the ALL Gate are connected to the inverter lines resembling the schematic in step 6. Place redstone on the ¨bridges¨.

Step 8: Repeat for ALL Gates 1-7

Once this step is finished your circuit should look something like this.

Step 9: Add Redstone Down the Rows

Add redstone down the rows. Make sure to place it under the "bridges" and not to miss any spaces. Leave 1 space open right after the inverter so it does not light up.

Step 10: Add Redstone Comparators Down the Rows

Add redstone comparators down the rows at about every 13 spaces. The limit is 15. Try to add them just before a trail of redstone goes of to the side. The less comparators you use the faster it will be.

Step 11: Place Redstone Comparators on the "bridges"

Place redstone comparators on the "bridges" in this configuration. Remember: 15 spaces is the limit for how far redstone travels.


Step 12: Place Redstone Lamps by the ALL Gates

Place redstone lamps as shown in the picture.

Step 13: Add Levers and Redstone

Place levers at each binary input. place redstone at the inverters. and the 0 lamp should come on. Enter binary codes in the inputs and you should have different lamps light up 0-7. If it does not work check your comparitors for backward ones and ones longer than 15 spaces apart
