Introduction: Biotechnology-Transformation

Biotechnology is so vast and fascinating😍! Here's what you need to know about transformation in biology/biotechnology.

Supplies

1) A focused and inquisitive mindset

Step 1: Transformation: Overview

1) Specific DNA gets cut out of an organism's genome by restriction enzymes.

2) The same restriction enzymecuts out specific DNA from another organism.

3) 2 DNAs from 2 different organisms get embodied which is called a recombinant DNA.

4) Transgenic bacteria are cells that take inrecombinant DNA.

Step 2: Transformation in Bacteria

1) Same restriction enzyme used to cut specific human DNA is used to cut specific bacteria DNA (plasmid).

2) Circular DNA of bacteria is called plasmid.

3) The restriction enzyme makes sticky end cuts on both organism's DNA.

Step 3: Eukaryotic Transformation

1) A cell can absorb a recombinant DNA if it is introduced out of the cell.

2) If there's a similar DNA sequence, the recombinant DNA can replace it.
