Introduction: Blowing Out an Egg
Blowing out an egg is easy and a great way to avoid wasting cooked dyed eggs that are (more often than not) left uneaten.
Step 1: Supplies
Here are some supplies:
- Pin
- Paper clip
- Napkin to wipe the egg
- A bowl (to save the blown out yolk and egg whites)
- Something sharp (I used a seam ripper but an Xacto knife or the pin mentioned above works too)
- Finally, an egg!
Step 2: Poke Holes
Firmly grasp the egg with one hand and with the other, poke a small hole on the smaller end of the egg using a twisting motion to slowly make an opening.
Make a larger hole on the larger end.
Step 3: Preparing the Egg White and Yolk
Unfold the paper clip and use to break apart the inside of the egg (making it easier to blow out).
Step 4: Blow!
Wipe the egg ensuring that the egg is clean of the egg whites/yolk and blow into the smaller hole you made at the top into a bowl.
Keep blowing until all the insides have come out.
Step 5: Wash
Wash the egg, swish water inside the egg and blow the water out.
Allow the egg to dry before decorating.
Step 6: Finished
Done! You can now dye or decorate your hollowed out egg however you want!
