Introduction: Bluetooth Controlled Rc Plane(Crashproof)

About: Hi , I am a Maker-Space Educator .I love to design thing and make things using tools like electronics,papercraft,3d printing,etc.which are parts of makerspace.

Dear All,

Have a wonderful day !!!

After working for more than few years now i am able to make low cost Bluetooth controlled rc plane,which is small and durable too. you can find the video link below.

https://youtu.be/R8zGcuEch48

Planes always attract me from my childhood .I have made many big planes but as the time changed Now the park size are small so i came up with this idea so that the passion of plane be still alive.

You can make your own plane by following these steps and for any doubt you can post here.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$-------------So if you like this than give a like-------------$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Step 1: Material Required:

Before we start we should get these materials:

@1: Arduino nano 1nos

@2: Hc-05 Bluetooth module 1nos

@3: Mosfet 2302 2nos

@4:10k resistor 2nos

@5: li-ion battery 150mah 3nos

@6: coreless motor+ propellor 2nos

@7: Thermocol

@8: color cellotape( your favorite color)

@9:foam plate

This much you need to make ready.

Get set Go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Step 2: Making the Body of the Plane

The best way you can follow is my instruct-able video to make the body of the plane .

you need to add the color tape you want to design.

first we took 1/2 inch thermocol for making the body.

the dimensions are given in the image please follow it and than you can make the body.

lenght is approximate 50cm.

Step 3: Making of the Wing (Most Important Part)

The length of the wing is 60 cm approximately.

it is made from three parts each 20 cm. the breadth of the wing is 11 cm approximately.

Since the wing is made by the method of hot wire cutting thermocol we made a wing design on the cardboard which you can see clearly in the video .

Step 4:

Step 5: Electronics Setup.

This is very simple we just need to (Final sketch has been drawn):

part one : connect Bluetooth module Hc 05 same power supply

rx to tx and tx to rx of the arduino nano

part two : connect the Digital pin 9 to left motor mosfet and Digital pin 10 to right side mosfet motor.

Here we have smd mosfet si2303 .

Note:@@@@give separate power supply to arduino and motor mosfet .keeping both battery common ground.

Step 6: Arduino Code:

Hi the speed we have set according to the plane .

you can set your speed by changing the value in command like analogWrite (Lm,190); the value can be from (0 -255) as per the speed you need.

Please find the arduino attachment .

Step 7: Andriod APP

The andriod app i have attached here as well as you can search in the gallery of

Mit app inventor 2

"UAV"

Please find the UAV.apk file and install on the android phone.

@@@@@@@@@@@@Good news is the app is only 3 MB so it runs smooth on your app.@@@@@@@@

Step 8: Debugging :

If the plane does not fly properly:

STEP 1: Check the centre of gravity and set it by adjusting the position of the battery

STEP2: Adjust the tail of the plane. set the elevator by folding it littlebit up.

Final step : still problem, comment below and get the solution.
