Introduction: Booger Buddy

I live in a predominately agricultural region.  As a result, there is oftentimes a large concentration of dust in the air.  Our bodies, being the biological wonders that they are, are well adapted to such conditions and come remarkably well equipped to filter out such pollution.  Tiny hairs in our nasal passages capture this dust and bind it together with what can sometimes seem like a large quantity of mucus.  Periodically, this mass of dust impregnated mucus must be eliminated.

There are several methods commonly employed to remove this material.
  • Blowing ones nose into a handkerchief or tissue.
  • A semi-autonomous, convulsive expulsion of air from the body, commonly known as a sneeze.
  • Drawing the mass deep into the air passages so as to make oral expulsion possible, commonly referred to as "hocking a loogie."
  • Manual removal of the foreign body via single digit probe: the method most commonly utilized by young children.
Each of these methods have their own advantages.  However, each of them have one glaring shortfall:  what to do with the material once it has been removed from the body?  This shortcoming has now been solved...Introducing the Booger Buddy ®.

Now, you, too, can experience the convenience of this handy little gadget at virtually no cost.  Here's how you can make your own Booger Buddy ®.

Materials:
  • 1 bendable straw
  • scissors
Instructions:
  1. Use scissors to cut long end of bendable straw.  Cut to slightly longer than the short end.
  2. Insert long end into nostril.
  3. Insert short end into mouth
  4. Block unused nostril with finger.
  5. Suck strongly through straw.
  6. Chew.
  7. Swallow.
  8. Remove straw, wash, and put in pocket for later use.
And there you have it: a completely self contained method for dealing with nasal material without the need for later disposal.  It's tasty, too.

This Instructable really sucks!  Chindogu.
