Introduction: Bread Bag Tab Globes

I am Lisa Brunetta, a visual artist specializing in off-the-wall sculptures with an eco-conscience.

I made an installation for an all-night art festival out of aluminum wire, a string of old Christmas lights, fuse wire donated from a guy who tests explosives for the Canadian federal government, glow-in-the-dark paint and reflective paint.

The installation was called "Light, Squared" and included 41 globes and 5011 bread bag tabs.

I made the underframes of the globes from the aluminum wire. Then I strung the bread bag tabs by twisting the fuse wire between them, making long strands I then coiled and sewed (with recuperated copper electrical wire) onto the aluminum frames.

Some globes had lights inside them; others were painted with glow-in-the-dark paint and others with the reflective paint.

Hope you enjoy the photos.

Cheers, Lisa
