Materials

1) Driller, Drill bids, Sand Papers, washers

2) Wood - Softwood from Home Depot

3) Metal Bookshelf holders (EKBY BJÄRNUM Bracket - 11)

4) Parachute cord

Step 1: Cutting the Wood Pieces

Cut the long strips of wood into 12 smaller bridge-pieces, 7.5 inches in length. (Takes around an hour worth of effort).

TIP: Since we'll eventually be using a hand-held drilling machine, it is advised to cut some additional spare pieces, as it is difficult to get the holes parallel to the top surface of the bridge piece.

Step 2: Drill Holes

Drill two hole, 1 inch away from the edge, side-to-side along the width of the bridge-piece.

Step 3: Step 3: Polish the Edges

Use a sandpaper to polish the edges of the bridge-piece.

Step 4: Step 4: Tie Up

Take a parachute cord and insert one bridge piece at a time with washers between them. Tie a knot on both the edges and finish the cord with a flame using the instructions below.

Step 5: Step 5: Fit the Edge Brackets

Fit the edge brackets (See materials in the introduction) to the bridge-pieces on the edge. Your bookshelf is ready now.
