Introduction: Burlap Wreath Tutorial
You will need one 12inch wire wreath form.
2 rolls of burlap ribbon
pipe cleaners cut in half
Scissors
Wire cutters
Step 1: Wire Into Burlap
Fold burlap into quarters and push pipe cleaner through the burlap.
Step 2: Attaching Burlap to Wreath
Secure burlap to inner most wire of form using pipe cleaner. Burlap should lay under form flowing outward.
Step 3: Pull Through Loops
Pull 3 loops through form between wires starting with innermost gap and working outward. Make loops a consistent height between 2 and 4 inches tall.
Step 4: Twist Burlap
On backside of wreath near outer most wire make one complete twist of the burlap.
Step 5: Continue Pulling Loops and Twisting
Continue to draw three loops through form, twisting at the end of each row.
Step 6: Splicing Burlap
When you come to the end of your length of burlap, push a pipecleaner through fabric and attach to wreath frame. Take a new length of burlap and push a pipecleaner through the end and attach in same place you left off with the last piece. Continue looping and twisting burlap around wreath
Step 7: Finishing Wreath
When you reach the end of your wreath use a pipe cleaner to fasten burlap to wreath form.
Step 8: Cleaning Up Wreath
Using scissors trim and long ends of burlap from the back of your wreath and hide under loops. Also, trim any pipe cleaners that might be showing. Finally, turn wreath over and trim any burlap strings that may have come loose and adjust loops until even.
