Introduction: CAD a D4

The goal of this instructable is to CAD a D4 with only 1 parameter

Supplies

CAD Software, I use OnShape as it is free

Step 1: Base Triangle

  1. Make an equilateral triangle whose center is on the origin
  2. Add your one dimension to say how big the triangle is
  3. Add a construction line from the constrained point down along the "Right" plane
  4. Make the construction line be equal (same length as) the side of the triangle


Step 2: Find the Top

  1. Make a construction circle whose radius is the length of the side of triangle
  2. Draw a construction line up from the origin to the circle


Step 3: Loft the Triangle

  1. Loft the base triangle to both the top point found

Step 4: Finish!

You now have a "blank" D4!
