Introduction: CIRCULAR - LINEAL - MAGNETIC PROPULSION SYSTEM

A tubular magnetic propulsion system, by introducing at one of its ends a vehicle / object with magnetic properties is capable of propelling it in an upward, linear and circular direction, being able to generate energy in its path. This technology could be applied to low consumption transport systems. Transportation systems. Propulsion systems Educational instruments / toys.

WARNING:

Read and study the entire project first, step by step, meditate on it, this project is designed for a 40 x 40 x 40 cm printer in case of not having it you will have to cut some pieces.

All parts are printed WITHOUT SUPPORT

It is an expensive toy

We must have patience

You have to have high / medium knowledge of 3D printing

Supplies

Print 3D

PLA

Magnets 15x10x2

Step 1: PURCHASE AND ASSEMBLY LIST

Before you start, read and review the attached document SPMT_spa (Spanish) or SPMT_eng (English)

- Buy a 18 magnets of 15 x 10 x 2 = 1 piece for experimenting

(WARNING ---------------> almost complete circle you need print 29
pieces and buy 522 magnets (very expensive) and need print BASE.stl )

- 3 x cylindrical magnet of 2.5 mm radius and 10 mm in length,

- 3 x cylindrical magnet of 5 mm radius and 10 mm in length,

- 1 x cylindrical magnet 1.5 mm radius and 10 mm long,

The cylindrical magnets join only with their own magnetic force according to the figure, it will be the piece that travels inside the tube.

Step 2: Placing the Magnets

Print CCR1_UNICA.stl --> pla 20% INFILL

Insert the magnets as the picture indicates Pa <> Pb

Insert the magnets with the same polarity pointing inside the tube, you will need to glue them so that they do not fly away.

You can already experiment with it

Do you want to go further? Next step

Step 3: Arriving 90º

Do you want to go further? you can print the complete piece Base.stl or for example a quarter of it and a quarter of the piece called tubobobina.stl or pipewocoil.stl (This is a simpler tube to print because it is wider and thicker, but due to the size it cannot be wound later in case you want to experiment with electromagnetism.)

In the third video you can see tests with coils generating a small amount of energy.

Step 4: Arriving 180º

Have you dared to reach 340º? First try to get there little by little, checking the symmetry of each piece and checking or changing when you notice that when you put a piece the vehicle loses strength at its exit, if that happens it is an indication that some of the magnets is not correct in the placement, symmetry or not well glued. It's complicated ... patience.

In the video we can see that the pieces not being glued, a rebound effect is generated or possibly if they were more unbalanced it would not reach the exit, so it is important to go one by one checking them.

Step 5: Reaching 345º and Testing the Coils

In the videos added, you can check some faults that I found during assembly, parts that had to be replaced, the tube had some PLA threads on the inside and I had to polish it a bit, each tube piece to be glued to the base , with the impossibility of disassembly, at this point cross your fingers and pray for the system to be properly checked.

If you have arrived here, congratulations! You have a fragile and beautiful electromagnetic experimentation toy
