CYBER RETRO SPEAKERS

This project is inspired by the 80's vinyl recorder. vinyl disks act as storage.

An analog audio recording pressed in vinyl. The 45 RPM record holds one song per side, while 33 1/3 RPM "Long Play" records hold an entire album.

this project is to show how cyber tech and retro-tech can be combined to make cool gadgets.

Supplies

Step 1: PRINTING THE ENCLOSURE

I designed this box to look a bit futuristic and resemble a vinyl recorder.

the enclosure was designed in 3 parts - base, body frame, head

there was an additional part designed to resemble disk.

Step 2: CIRCUIT WIRING

connect the wires according to the guide given:

• the main power input is connected to dc jack
• connect the audio output to PAM8403
• then connect it to speakers

Step 3: SUPPORT SYSTEM

here I added few support spacers for the PCB to sit tight and then glued the speaker to the head.

Step 4: SPEAKER PROTECTION AND WRAPPING

to make the wrapping, I took a mesh and cut it in the size of the speaker . I then wrapped the mesh with a piece of black fabric to make it look like a vinyl disk. the support ring was then painted black and fixed to the head.

Step 5: MAKING THE ARM

take a brass wire of 1.5 mm thickness and bend it according to your wish, to make it look like a recorder arm.

Step 6: FINAL FIXING

to fix the head to the mainframe, I cut 3 pieces of brass wire and glued them to the head.

finally, we have the speaker ready :)
