Step 1: Learn to Look Around
While creating designs it helps to be able to see your design from all sides.
Let's learn how you can change your view.
Can you rotate your view to see who's behind the curtain? The ViewCube (located at the top left of Tinkercad) will help you looking around.
Instructions
- Just drag anywhere in the ViewCube and you will see how it changes the point of view.
- Try pressing the top corners of the ViewCube until you see who's behind the curtain!
- Continue to the next step.
Step 2: Learn to Zoom
From time to time, it helps to take a closer look at your design. Practice zooming in and out.
Instructions
- If you have a mouse with a scroll wheel, use it for zooming in and out.
- If you use a touchpad, you will zoom using the gesture that you normally use in other apps when wanting to zoom.
- Continue to next step.
Step 3: Let's Look Around Faster...
Now you have seen how to rotate using the ViewCube in the Tinkercad editor. This time let's try by only using your mouse or touchpad.
Instructions
- Press and hold the right mouse button while moving your mouse to practice rotating your view of the design.
- If you want to use your touchpad, you can either press Ctrl and left click while you drag, or simply right click and drag if you have your touchpad set up for accepting right clicks.
- Continue to the next step.
Step 4: Congratulations!
You did it!
Don't forget, you can:
- Scroll the wheel on your mouse or use your touchpad to zoom in and out.
- Press and hold your right mouse button while moving the mouse to rotate your view or do Ctrl and left click while you drag on your touchpad.
Great Job!
