Introduction: Flight Cage: Assemble Base and Legs

First, get your two base pieces and lay them upside down so that you can assemble them with 1 5/8" screws in the pocket holes. Match the edges that are marked "front".

Next, assemble the legs by matching them to the corresponding number in each of the corners to the top of the legs. Simply turn until tight. Each leg has a small hole drilled into the outside corner of the leg, indicating that corner should match the corner of the base.

For the side rails you will attach the two front pieces together with three 1 5/8" screws and do the same with the two back pieces. The side rails that go on the in correspond with the leg numbers that they attach to. You will use 1 inch screws to attach the side rails to the base and you will use 1 5/8" screws to attach the Side rails to the legs. Use the trim guide to help line up the side rails as shown.

Turn the base over and you are ready to start attaching panels.

Step 1: Attach Plexiglass Pieces to Panels

The plexiglass pieces are marked with the matching panel letter that they attach to. The tape is on the side of the plexiglass that faces inside the cage. It is also located close to the top edge. Attach to the panel using short black pan head screws. Don't over tighten as to break the plexi.

Step 2: Attaching Panels

You will attach panels A through E by using the pre-drilled holes under the base and 2 inch screws into the bottom of each panel. Start with panel A at the back left corner as shown. Attach panels B and C, then use 1 5/8" screws to attach the sides of those panels together. It might help to have a clamp to hold the panels together until the screws are in place. Then attach panels D and E.

Now you can put the drawers in place because the next three panels do not attach to the base as they sit above the drawers.

Now panel F is on the left side of the front of the cage. Place two plexiglass scraps on top of the drawer and then the panel on top of the Plexi pieces. Three 1 5/8" screws use the pre drilled holes in the side of panel E to attach panel F. Then attach panel G to the other end.

Now, attach your stabilizer bars to the back panels before you attach the middle panel H. Use the short bronze screws. The stabilizer bars are marked on the ends that go to the back panels. LR is left rear, RR is right rear. Use the plexiglass spacers between the top of the drawer and the bottom of the stabilizers.
Then put one screw in the front end of each bar and the front panel as shown. After you put the final panel in front you will add the last screw of each stabilizer into that panel.

Panel H is that middle front panel. Keep the plexiglass strips under that panel and the adjacent panels. Open your doors and there will be four pre-drilled holes to attach to the middle panel using 1 5/8" screws. That is it for the panels.

Step 3: Attach the Tops

This final step is very easy. You have two pieces marked left front and right front. Use six
1 1/4"screws in the pre drilled holes in the top bars of the panels for each side. That's it!! You are finished.
