Introduction: Cardboard Box Piñata

Materials:

Paperboard box*
Tissue paper
Candy
String

*try cereal boxes, pastry boxes, tissue boxes

Tools:
Glue
Scissors

Step 1:

Untuck the front flap of the box.

Step 2:

Glue the box closed on both sides.

Step 3:

Use scissors to make a small hole on each side of the box. The hole should be about 2 inches in from the open side of the box. Thread the string through each hole. Knot the string ends together.

Step 4:

Cut each sheet of tissue paper lengthwise into 4 equal size strips. Stack the strips and make 1 inch cuts across the strips to create a fringe.

Step 5:

Glue the strips of fringed tissue paper around the box. Apply the glue on the tissue paper above the fringe. Overlap the tissue paper as you go.

Step 6:

Fill the box with candy. Glue the top flaps and tuck the lid in to close the box.

Step 7:

Finish the box by gluing fringed tissue paper on the top.

Step 8:

Hang it up and hit it with a stick!
