Introduction: Cardboard Ventriloquist Dummy Head

I am a beginner ventriloquist but don't have the money to buy myself a real dummy so I came up with this. This dummy will move its eyes and mouth. I hope you enjoy!

Step 1: Your Materials You Need

With this project you will need a fair sized card board box (not one of those mini boxes of cereal they give out a hotels, those are to small),2 ping-pong balls, 4 paperclips, a black marker (for detail), spray paint (any color), hot glue, and scissors.

Step 2: Spray Painting Your Box

Now that you have chosen your box spray paint it the color of your choice. I recommend using primer before painting your head. It just makes the head look better and more professional.

Step 3: Cutting Out the Mouth and Eye Holes

With your scissors cut out a mouth and eye holes like shown. DO NOT cut the eye holes to big or else the ping pong balls won't fit in.

Step 4: Placing in the Eyes

Now here's the tricky part. Take two paper clips and stick them through the Ping pong balls in the to the top and bottom of the balls like shown. Now take another paperclip and stick it near the end of each ping pong ball like shown. Then hot glue the paperclips stuck through the top and bottom of the Ping pong balls to the top and bottom of the eye holes and there you have your eyes.

Step 5: Making the Mouth Move

This is the easy part. All you need to do is bend a paperclip into a "S" shape them straiten out the longer side then glue it to the mouth like shown.

Step 6: Adding Details

Now just add pupils to the eyes, and blacken some of the mouth with your marker to give your dummy some character.

Step 7: All Done!

Congratulations if you followed these steps correctly you have made your own homemade dummy head!
