Introduction: Cats Ear Ring
this is a guide to give you an idea on how i made my cats ear ring. its a wax casting so this guide will cover most of the tools u can use to make you experience enjoyable.
Step 1: The Carveing
first things are first. i cut off a piece of ring shaped wax and got carving. whittling down the wax, i roughly cut the wax to ears. make sure to take the time to hollow out the ears. dental tools are great for carving and can be used to put in fine details.
Step 2: Smoothing Out the Shape
i used my matt trimmer on my flex shaft to take off large amounts of wax to finish up the shaping. i highly recommend this tool. its pricey but well worth the price.
Step 3: Finalizing the Wax
i then like to polish up my wax so i use a cut piece of canvas. the cloth is just rough enough to smooth out any scratch the other tools may have made. once satisfied i personally send off my waxes to a mold maker and have him cast my wax into silver.
Step 4: The Finishing.
when i get the ring back it comes tumbled, so its smooth just not shiny. so i just use some Zam on my buffing wheel and bring it up to a high polish.
Step 5: Finished
Finished! time to show it off and get ready to take orders. thank you for reading. hope i have inspired you to give wax carving/ casting a shot.
