Intro: Cherry Blossom Frappuccino Recipe

Recently, Starbucks served the Cherry Blossom Frappuccino (in the US) for just a few days. I never got a chance to try it, but I still wanted to make it myself. Starbucks made it with green tea and strawberry puree, which seems kind of weird for something with Cherry in the name. Though, to be fair, a cherry blossom probably doesn't taste like strawberry or cherry.

For my recipe, I decided to go with how it sounds like it should taste and used Cherry Torani and Green Tea, but you can replace the cherry with strawberry if you want it more like the Starbucks flavor.

STEP 1: Supplies

This recipe is a single serving and makes about the equivalent of a 16oz Grande from Starbucks.

I decided to do two recipes for this, mainly because I forgot about how the article mentioned white chocolate, but also because I like both, so I think people should make whichever they prefer.

Ingredients:

• 2c Ice
• 3/4c Milk / or / Half & Half
• 3 tbsp Cherry Syrup
• 3 tbsp Simple Syrup (or sugar, but simple syrup blends in better)
• 2 tsp Matcha Green Tea Powder - use between 1tsp and 3tsp depending on how much you like the flavor, I thought 2tsp was a good amount
• Pinch of Xantham Gum (optional)

Alternative Recipe (that incorporates white chocolate):

• 2c Ice
• 3/4c Milk / or / Half & Half
• 2 tbsp Cherry Syrup
• 2 tbsp White Chocolate Syrup /or/ white chocolate sauce
• 2 tbsp Simple Syrup (or sugar, but simple syrup blends in better)
• 2 tsp Matcha Green Tea Powder - use between 1tsp and 3tsp depending on how much you like the flavor
• Pinch of Xantham Gum (optional)

Starbucks Version?

Replace the Cherry with Strawberry Syrup or Strawberry puree (I'm not sure how much puree you would need, but I would say to start with this much, taste it, and add more if need be).

Topping Suggestions:

• Strawberry Sauce - it's the same color
• Green Tea Powder

Coffee Version:

Replace milk with Strong Coffee, but I don't know how coffee will taste with green tea.

Utensils:

• Blender
• Ice cube trays - small ice cubes make for even easier blending
• Measuring cups and spoons
• Cups for serving
• Straws - I'm a fan of reusable ones.

STEP 2: Blend

Blend it all together and top it with whipped topping and some more green tea.

STEP 3: Enjoy

It came out an uninteresting color. Mine didn't match the one Starbucks did and I'm not sure what they did to get the coloring separate. I decided to not take the time to make it all fancy. I figure it tastes good either way :)

I think if you want yours more like theirs, you need to mix everything but the green tea and then mix that in last? I'm not sure. If someone gets it to work, share in the comments how they did it!
