Introduction: Cherry Picture Frame Made for Water Color Pantings

My uncle in India had a lot of art he had made, and we needed to make a frame to hold them all

Supplies

We used a table saw router, miter saw, cherry and walnut lumber, and Matboard Matboard cutter.

Step 1:

I draw the profile I need and figure out spacing and size

Step 2:

Cut wood into the dimensions of the frame

Step 3:

With a router table, use a roman bit and a round-over bit to shape the frame. Using a table saw to make small groves in the frame.

Step 4:

Using a miter saw, make miter butt joints for the frame. Using a spline jig with the table saw cut splines in but joints. add splines and glue.

Step 5:

Add the poly of your choice. We used a tung oil finish.

Step 6:

Using a ruler and a matboard cutter, measure and cut the mat board to the size of the paintings and place it in the frame

Step 7:

Hang and enjoy
