Introduction: Chocolate Pi - Cake

In this instrucable we are making a pi Cake.

Supplies

250g - chocolate

250g - butter

180g - sugar

8g - vanilla sugar

6 - eggs

100g - flour

250g - grated nuts

Baking time: 180°C (356°F) for 25min

Decoration:

fondant in colour as you want

some apricot jam

Eatable marking pen in a colour you like

Step 1: Heating the Chocolate and Butter

• Preheat the oven 180°C (356°F).

• Melt the chocolate and the butter in little peaces in a water bath (Wasserbad in german)

• let the mixture cool down a bit.

Step 2: Mixing Eggs and Sugar

• open the 6 eggs and pay attention that there is no eggshell in the cup

• beat the eggs and the sugar until it's fluffy

Step 3: Mixing Chocolate and Eggs

• put the chocolate and butter mix into the egg-sugar cream

• mix till it's mixed well. (all has the same colour, but not too long)


Step 4: Add Flour and Nuts

• put the flour, nuts and the vanilian sugar together in one cup and mix it well.

• stir the mix carefully under the already existing dough

Step 5: Pour the Dough in the Baking Mould

• prepare the baking mould with bakery paper all over or cover it with butter.

• pour the dough in the already prepared baking mould.

• bake it for approx. 25min at 180°C (356°F)

Step 6: Decorating the Cake

• roll the fondant at the needed size

• put some heated jam on the top of the cake

• cover the cake with the fondant und cut the edges clean.

• with an other colour of fondant cut the pi and write the numbers around it.

Step 7: Put the Pi on Top of the Cake

• put the pi on top of the cake and enjoy your masterpiece
