Introduction: Christmas Cards
Holidays are coming!
And to make the most wonderful time of the year even more memorable, you can surprise your friends and family with custom-made greeting cards. Send them via email, or print them and use the old-fashioned mailbox – spread the Christmas spirit!
What you will need:
- themed backgrounds – Christmas trees, snowflakes…
- your photo(s)
- a good photo editor, I will be using the one by Movavi. You can get it here if you want:

Step 1: Replace the Background
First, you need to make a new background for your photo. Select the foreground with the green brush and mark the rest with the red brush. Next, refine the edges, shift or blur the borders and paste the new background. There are a couple of Christmas-themed images in the program, but you can easily upload your own picture.
Step 2: Add Text
Add a couple of captions to your card – there are plenty of beautiful original fonts, plus you can use any font that is installed on your computer. For instance, these texts are written in the Script, Salina, and Bernier Shade fonts. You can adjust their size, color, and outline, add decorations, and so on.
Step 3: Add Filters
Finally, set the Christmas mood with some filters and effects – Bokeh, color filters, vignettes...or mix them all! The filters used in the photos below are Degas and Raphael + Solar shining.
Happy holidays, everybody!
