Introduction: Chunky Guacamole
This is yet another recipe I adopted from my mother. It's a little different take on guacamole, due to it's chunky texture, but either way it's still a classic summertime picnic staple.
The ingredients:
- 4-5 Avocados
- 1 Clove of Garlic, minced
- 1 Onion, diced
- 2 Tomatoes, diced
- 1/4 Cup of Cilantro, minced
- 2 Limes
- 1 Jalapeño
- 1 tsp. of Salt
Step 1: The Golden Ratio
Not all ingredients are created equal, so I tried to create a proportion-based visual to help find the correct ratio. Once you are able to find the desirable amounts, the recipe is amazingly simple:
Scoop out the avocados and dice the onions and tomatoes. Mince the garlic, cilantro, and jalapeños and add all these ingredients to a mixing bowl, squeeze the two limes on top. I use a fork to mix, as it helps incorporate the avocados more evenly.
Next, add salt after tasting with a chip. Make adjustments as needed. Enjoy!

I love me some good guac! This looks SO much better than the soupy mush that often passes as guacamole.
Nice work, great photos. I especially like the guacamole ratio graphic!
